India has plentiful vacation spots but most of the well-known spots have become crowded and polluted by excessive tourists. For those of you looking for a more off-beat vacation destination, here is a list of a few:

● SIKKIM

Sikkim, in the north-east is a wonderful alternative for Ladakh, which can be a lot more crowded owing to its popularity. Sikkim is a place where you can have a pleasant vacation while still saving on money. The state is undoubtedly better for people searching for a tranquil getaway, with lush vegetation, vast hills, and Buddhist monasteries. You can visit monasteries, spend time in the wild, participate in several adventure activities and purchase handicrafts. The best time to visit Sikkim is either March to May or October to mid-December.

● GOKARNA

Gokarna, one of India’s many picturesque beach towns, is one of the country’s best-kept secrets. Gokarna is known for its beautiful, unspoiled beaches, but it is predominantly a temple town with a calm and mellow atmosphere that makes for a really enjoyable vacation. It is a wonderful getaway from crowded cities. You can explore the beaches, temples, swim in the clean waters, meet. new people and have scrumptious food.

● MAWSYNRAM

Mawsynram, in Meghalaya, is famous as the wettest place in India. This place is blessed with abundant showers, making it one of the most beautiful places to go on vacation. September to November is the best time to visit. You can also visit during the monsoon season if you wish to enjoy the rains more.

● JABALPUR

Another underrated city to visit is Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. It is the home to Kanha Wildlife Sanctuary and Bandhavgarh National Park. It also has a lot of wildlife to see. There is also a magnificent waterfall at. Bhedaghat. Sanchi, Madhya Pradesh The great Indian Emperor Ashoka erected grand Buddhist monuments across the land. The best of these monuments is the Great Stupa of Sanchi which is an hour away from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The stone gates at the four cardinal points, however, are the most fascinating. They feature intricate engravings that tell the Buddhist spiritual tale as well as factual events of the period. Sanchi also has a lot more than the stupa. Sanchi is about much more than just the stupa. There are a large number of ancient and modern Buddhist sites. The magnificent Udayagiri Caves, with sculptures carved into the rock sides; the converted 11th-century Hindu temple of Bijamamdal; and the palaces of Islamnagar are all in the region.

● KHAJJIAR

Khajjiar, in Himachal Pradesh is also known as India’s Switzerland. The hill station is found in the centre of the spectacular ‘Deodar’ woods. This spot is enhanced by a cluster of reeds and a lush green grassland. The pastoral beauty is complemented by a tiny plateau with thick pine and Deodar trees around its edges. This location has the world’s most unique mix of three ecosystems. The lakes, meadows, and woods combine to make a visit to this location a one-of-a-kind experience.

● VARKALA

Varkala, Kerala, is a charming haven nestled on the Arabian Sea’s beaches. The coastal town is one of India’s greatest offbeat destinations, with clear, clean beaches, hills, temples, and lighthouses. You can visit Papanasam beach, where sadhus perform sacred rites. A sacred spring flows nearby, and pilgrims bathe in it to cleanse themselves. Paragliding and parasailing are two adventurous sports that you should try. Ayurveda or yoga and meditation are also must try activities here. Swim, sunbathe, or simply relax on the beach.

● TAWANG

Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, is a lovely yet unconventional location in India that has numerous monasteries. It is located at a height of roughly 3048 metres above sea level. It is also recognized as the Dalai Lama’s birthplace. Since summers here provide a cool retreat and winters may be extremely cold, it is best to visit this place between March to September. The ideal time to see the valley in all its splendour is in the spring.

● KOTAGIRI

Kotagiri is a pleasant mountain retreat nestled amidst the Nilgiri Hills in Tamil Nadu. It is largely unknown and unexplored. In the early morning, you can take a walk around the beautiful tea plantations or meet with workers picking tea leaves. Plan hiking adventures as there are several routes that lead to the heart of the mountains. It is truly an escape to the natural world. Waterfalls and wild animals are also plentiful here. It is the perfect spot for a. weekend getaway or a short holiday as the pure mountain air will refresh your senses. It can be visited throughout the year. It is also easily accessible as it has a railway station of its own.

● SPITI VALLEY

Spiti Valley is a paradise located in Himachal Pradesh. It is encircled by mountain ranges, high-altitude alpine regions, towering peaks wrapped in snow, and one of the oldest and most spectacular monasteries at an elevation of 12,500 feet above sea level. Spiti shares an international border with Tibet. This location is home to Tibet’s unique religion, Tibetan Buddhism. In the Spiti Valley, you’ll find Ki Monastery and Tabo Monastery, two of the world’s oldest monasteries and favourites of the Dalai Lama.

● DAMRO

Damro, Arunachal Pradesh, is the starting point for the longest hanging bridge (at 1,000 feet). Damro lures with thatched bamboo cottages, swinging suspended bridges, making it a hidden path to heaven. It is a remote. retreat for tired city folk, and it is among India’s undiscovered places. Harvested crops, animals and vast tracts of meadows and grasslands of this place are all quite enticing. You can also visit Damro Labokellie Tea Garden.
