2021 is the year for content marketing. Why do I say that? Because most of us are sitting at home, working out of our beds & make-shift desks & simply have more time to do these things. If your argument is then going to be that 2020 was the same, well, no one was ready for 2020. We’re used to it now. So what platforms can we leverage.

Let’s find out more

Instagram

The king of all social media, Instagram. This platform is amazing when you want to create organic audiences, but also works great if you want to run ads & bring in leads. Scrolling through instagram is almost a must-have in every millenial’s schedule so leverage it.

Facebook

Yes, facebook is old. That being said, you’re going to find early millennials and people in their 50s spending a lot of their time on facebook & its host of mindless games. Take advantage of this wide age-range on the platform & target specific groups with the help of facebook’s advanced advertising toolkit.

Youtube

No, you do not have to be the next T-Series, fighting against PewDiePie. You can instead use Youtube as a means to put out educational content, product demos, troubleshooting videos & so on. You can use it as a video drive if nothing else.

Medium

It’s weird to be promoting Medium on Medium. But we all know the magic that blogs do for SEO & capturing audiences organically. Medium is a great platform for you to start your journey as a blogger. Put out your content regularly on this platform & link it back to your website to create an interconnected network of your content.

Twitch

Well this one is subjective. If you have a game to popularise, or products tailored for gamers twitch would be a platform that you must make your presence on. You can either create your own stream out there or you could sponsor popular streamers to bring in the views for you.

Tik-Tok

We have all spent time hating this platform, but truth be told, Tik Tok is a platform that you can NOT MISS to leverage. If your product targets Generation Z, get on TikTok. Several new products have benefitted from the ability of this platform to make just about anything go Viral. Put it on Tik-tok & the world will love it.

Press-Releases

Now I know this doesn’t qualify as a platform. But pushing your content out across several different blogs that are not owned by you, is a great way to create back-links. Backlinks will boost your website’s SEO rankings & help you stay on top.

Email-marketing

Send out valuable information to your target audience, people who have visited your website or have interacted with you before, through email campaigns. When you do this, you must make sure that your content provides value & encourages engagement.

Twitter

Remember when I told you that there is no such thing as bad publicity in my last blog. Well, twitter may be a little hard to handle because people can be a little unfiltered here. That being said, people also love to engage & converse on twitter. So consider setting up an account & conversing with others on their posts. Not just posting your stuff & disappearing.

Reels

Reels are a sub-set of instagram yes. But they work very differently. Don’t believe me? Post a quick video to your instagram field. Then post the same video to reels. See the difference for yourself. Since reels are a new endeavour in Instagram’s bucket, the algorithm itself pushes reels forward & gets the word around.

Clubhouse

This audio-based social media platform set records on fire as soon as it was released. Initially available only through invites, this application gives you the opportunity to quite literally talk to your customers. Find the right channels & mingle! Get your word out there.

LinkedIn

Last but not the least, there’s the Godfather of social media, LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a platform meant purely for working professionals. So if you work within the business-to-business sector, you cannot skip out on linkedin. Create a showcase page for your product, maintain your company page & engage with potential customers, all on one platform. It is also a great place to hire.

Now there are several platforms you can leverage, and when you plan your content marketing strategy, you need to be planning across several of these platforms. But, the secret does not lie in just planning, the key to successful content marketing is CONSISTENCY.
